The technique of massage has been used for thousands of years to relieve stress and fatigue while improving circulation. Massage Therapy is an excellent method for improving overall health and musculoskeletal efficiency. Massage has a number of benefits to help the mind and body. Some of these include removal of toxins that can build up in the muscles of the body, increased range of motion and joint flexibility, improved circulation by pumping oxygen and nutrients into vital organs and tissues, and relaxing and softening injured, tired or overused muscles.
Massage Therapy has been proven to assist in the healing of a large number of conditions including back and neck pain, surgery recovery, auto accidents, work injuries, fibromyalgia, arthritis, migraines, atrophied muscles, shoulder injuries, aches and pains of pregnancy and many others. It remains an excellent way to help the body heal itself.
One of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart.
Deep tissue massage therapy uses deeper pressure in order to release chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia which is the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints.
Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.
